WatchHub Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information WatchHub ("the app") collects, how it's used, and how you can delete it. The app is a personal TV show and movie tracker - it helps you keep a watchlist and track which episodes you've seen.

Information we collect

If you create an account, we collect:

• Email address - used to sign you in and let you recover your account.
• Display name - shown on your profile within the app.
• Optional personal info - birth year, gender, and country, only if you choose to enter them. These are never required.
• Viewing activity - your watchlist, which episodes you've marked watched (and when), your ratings, favorites, custom lists, and shows/movies you've marked "not interested" in.

If you use the app without creating an account ("Continue without an account"), none of this is sent anywhere - it stays only on your device, and we have no way to access it.

How your information is stored

Your data is stored in two places:

• On your device, in a local database, so the app works fully offline.
• In our backend database (hosted by Supabase), if you're signed in - this is what lets your watchlist sync across your devices. Access to this data is restricted so that only your own signed-in account can read or write it.

Third-party services

• TheTVDB - all show/movie information, posters, cast info, and episode data come from TheTVDB's API. Searching or browsing sends your search terms to TheTVDB, but not your account information. This product uses the TheTVDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TheTVDB.
• The Movie Database (TMDB) - used narrowly, only to distinguish a "Canceled" show from one that's simply "Ended" (data TheTVDB doesn't separately track) - no account information is sent, only the show's identifier.
• Supabase - our backend provider, used for account sign-in and storing the data described above.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Your choices

• You can edit or remove most of your information directly in the app (Profile, Settings, and individual list/rating screens).
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the app.

Children's privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including restricting database access so your data is only ever readable by your own account. That said, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
